Expedition Base Set

Titan Cards offer a wide range of Pokemon Card Singles from the Expedition Base Set of the Pokemon TCG including common, uncommon, rare and rare holo cards.

Expedition Base Set was the very first Pokemon Card set to be released in the e-Card era of the Pokemon Trading Card Game and the very first to work with the Nintendo e-Reader. The set first released in English on September 15th, 2002 and contained a total of 165 cards.

This set was the third 'base set' to be released in the west following on from its predecessors Base Set and Base Set 2 in the original series of the TCG. Notably the set introduced a new style of card with a dot pattern technology running down the sides to make them usable with the e-Reader facility, due to the increased border size to accommodate this cards in the set didn't contain Pokedex information on the card itself - but the information could be found if you used the e-Reader peripheral and scanned the card. Expedition Base also divided Pokemon Powers into Poke-Power and Poke-Bodies for the first time, something which would remain prevalent in the TCG for a long time to come.

Wizards of the Coast incurred greater licensing fees due to the use of Dot-Code technology and so only included 9 cards per pack in boosters instead of 11. The set contained an impressive 32 Rare Holos, which made up the first 32 cards in the set. Two theme decks were released alongside Expedition Base: Echo and Electric Garden.

Excellent experience

Been after an Elite Pokémon Celebrations Trainer set for some time now for my son. Titan Cards emailed me when it was back in stock, dispatch and delivery was really quick. They also included some little freebies in too, which my son really appreciated. Good price, good service, will be using again!

Lost Cards

Ordered some single cards from Titan, with standard shipping. Unfortunately after a week the cards still hadn’t arrived so I contacted them. They quickly got back to me and contacted Royal Mail. Once confirming Royal Mail had lost the package they resent the cards, thankfully with no other issues. Special mention to Tom that handle the problem brilliantly.
